The Talmud is almost completely debate, but it serves as a way of engaging with belief. I think "discussion" is probably the better term.<br />Alas historically Christianity is very bad at discussing without getting into a fight over who is really, really, really right, followed by excommunications and heretic hunting. It is a skill we should really build on. histrogeekhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04561619356616855040noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2818703174963694504.post-66971906694578390772014-05-13T09:43:48.924-05:002014-05-13T09:43:48.924-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.Yung Suk Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03123158248781264751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2818703174963694504.post-46210396304273535742014-05-13T09:40:33.080-05:002014-05-13T09:40:33.080-05:00Absolutely right. Christianity is not merely about...Absolutely right. Christianity is not merely about belief. "If you continue to abide in my teaching, you are truly my disciples" (John 8:31). Even when Jesus says "I am the way" (John 14:6), it does not mean that he paved a new way for Christians, as I explored in my most recent book on John's Gospel. Keep on working.Yung Suk Kimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03123158248781264751noreply@blogger.com
